Pre-lease car
Have you just selected a lease car but do you have to wait for it to be delivered? A pre-lease caris the ideal solution. This way, you can drive comfortably until the time of delivery. This page discusses the most important points of a leading car. Because what exactly is a pre-lease car, what do you have to take into account and what should you pay attention to?

A pre-lease car, what is that?
When you wait for the self-assembled lease car, it always takes a while. It must meet all needs and can therefore not always be delivered immediately. A pre-lease car is used to bridge the period before the final car is delivered. This can also be useful, for example, if your current lease contract expires and you still have to wait a while for the new car.

Short-term lease as a temporary car
There are various ways to make the period between ordering and delivering the lease car as comfortable as possible. Normally, people use a leading car in this short period of time. Sometimes the cars available within the company are used or a rental car is chosen. But did you know that short leasing is often a practical, flexible and economical solution?
Because VWP shortlease always has a large stock, there is always one suitable car for you between! Do you need a leading car? In the Netherlands, we usually deliver a car from our stock after just one day. A short lease car is always cheaper than a rental car, where you have to pay per day or per week.
Pre-lease cars and tax
Addition applies to any company car that can also be used for private purposes. It does not matter whether this car is leased/rented or whether the car is owned by the employer. During this period, an addition must be calculated on the fiscal value of the temporary car.
No double additional tax liability
There is no need to pay a double addition if a temporary car is needed. The private use allowance for the car must be adjusted for the relevant period. Formally, it is mandatory to temporarily adjust the addition if a leading car is used.
Benefits of a pre-lease car
Short-leasing a pre-lease car has several advantages:
- No unexpected costs: If your current lease contract expires and you have to wait a while for the new car, you may be temporarily without a car. This can result in unexpected costs, such as renting a car or using public transport. With a leading car, you can prevent these costs.
- Not without a car: With a leading car, you don't have to run out of a car while waiting for the new car. So you can just keep driving and your mobility is guaranteed!
- No hassle with insurance: If you buy a temporary car yourself, you have to take out temporary insurance yourself. With a leading car, you don't have to take this into account, as it is already insured via VWP Shortlease
